About

Me in 2009

Hello! I am Catherine.

Welcome to my baking blog. A lot has happened since I first published this blog back in 2008! A WHOLE LOT! Since that Time we have had 4 children, changed jobs, bought our first home, then sold it, moved 4 more times after that, started a travel blog. Needless to say we have been very busy.

Fahrenheit350 was created on the blogger platform and was my passion for 5 delicious years. Looking back on it now. I had no idea what I was doing, however, I think blogging was easier then. It was the wild west, there were huge communities sharing content, Pinterest was still fresh and new and you could make plenty of mistakes and still get plenty of visitors to your blog page.

Why I stopped food blogging

With the birth of our twins, the food blog got put on the backburner, then blogging time slipped away. I always had plans to get right back into it, but the timing never seemed right.

Last week Gabriel and I decided to check in on the old baking blog. We were surprised to see that it still got over 3k page views per month despite being a Blogspot site and not being built around SEO at all! Even still, Since it’s creation it has received over 1.6 million page views. That may seem small potatoes, but I think it is pretty good for a blog with broken images, and sever neglect for year. At one point I remember getting a check for $100 for Adsence revenue (apparently had placed ads on the blog, probably with high hopes of making heaps of cash).

It’s Alive!

Recently Gabriel took it upon himself to migrate the blogspot blog over to a clean WordPress site complete with the legit Fahrenheit350.com domain name that we have been paying to park with godaddy for the past 10 years. In fact! Gabriel even wrote this about page, which I am sure I will cringe at as well! No doubt, as soon as I read what he wrote, it will be updated in a matter of moments! Confusing?

Let’s get started!

I still love baking! My current focus is on creating healthy organic meals and desserts for my family, of which I have learned a lot about over the years. If you have read this far. Thanks for stopping by! I look forward getting back into the wonderful world of food blogging!

In the mean time, if you are interested in seeing what else my family and I have been up to. Here is Gabriel’s Dad Blog, and our Travel Blog. We definitely have no issues with keeping ourselves busy!
