Mountain Dew Cupcakes and lemon lime cupcakes for the gamer in your life that never wants to grow up.

Ingredients
  

Lemon Lime Cupcake Batter

  • 1 cup sunflower oil
  • 2 cups sugar
  • Zest 2+1 limes & lemon
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 ¼ cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • ¾ cup carbonated Mountain Dew soda

Lemon Lime Cupcake Frosting

  • Juice & Zest 2+1 limes & lemon
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions
 

  • Cream oil, sugar and zest together until smooth and integrated
  • Add eggs and vanilla beat into the sugar mixture
  • Whisk together until batter lightens in texture and color
  • Add flour, salt and soda and mix just until combined
  • Stir in Mountain Dew
  • Transfer batter to cupcake tins, lined with paper baking cups
  • Fill liners ⅔ full
  • Bake at Fahrenheit 350°, 22-25 minutes until cake springs back to the touch
  • Remove cupcakes from pan and transfer to a wire rack, let cool completely
  • Beat all ingredients until smooth
  • Frost cupcakes and top with your favorite crumbled cookies
