Ingredients

  • 1 package Twinkies
  • 1 quart any flavor ice cream or more
  • 1 tub Cool Whip

Instructions

Cake Base

  • Match a springform cake pan base with a bowl that is the same width across. The cake pan base should fit right on top of the opening of the bowl.
  • Cut twinkles in half horizontally
  • Cover the base of the pan with cut twinkies, cream side up
  • Make sure to fill the cake pan snug
  • Freeze twinkies in pan until firm

Ice Cream Center

  • Now take the bowl that matches your cake pan, and line it with tin foil making sure that the foil overhangs the edges of your bowl
  • Spoon your favorite softened ice cream into the bowl
  • You can use multiple flavors, or just one
  • Fill the bowl as high as you can or want to
  • Freeze until solid

Cool Whip Frosting

  • Once your twinkies and ice cream are frozen solid, take the bowl full of ice cream out of the freezer
  • Also, take your frozen twinkies out of the freezer
  • Using the foil overhanging the bowl, pull the ice cream out of the bowl
  • Invert the ice cream dome on top of the twinkies, while still in the cake pan base
  • The twinkies will now be on the bottom and the ice cream will be shaped on top of the twinkies forming a round half globe
  • Cover tops and sides with cool whip
  • Freeze again until firm
