Notes
Why Does this Recipe Use Only Brown Sugar?
This perfect no chill chocolate chip cookie recipe is all about deep rich flavors.
It’s almost savory.
It has a deep molasses flavor from the brown sugar, but doesn’t taste like Christmas. The chocolate and brown sugar, with the perfect amount of salt, are what make these cookies so perfect.
That’s A Lot of Salt
No it’s not. It’s perfect. Trust me.
The molasses in the brown sugar needs a higher ratio of salt to emphasize the flavor. Whereas white sugar compliments salt, brown sugar dampens the flavor.
